Things that don't go together (3)

The rock group Three Dog Night,  Three Hares, the Holy Trinity,  and a whole bunch of other stuff that doesn't fit.

You'll have to go with me a bit here because this will take some explaining.

First, its not really Three Dog Night that doesn't fit, its the song "One"

That's the song that talks about one being the loneliest number that you'll ever do etc.

which of course isn't really a Three Dog Night song,

Harry Nilsson, who wrote "Everybody's Talkin" also wrote "One"

However, Nilsson never had any band with the number three in it

or so I'm told

and this blog is all about the numbers one and three, see?

So even though everybody's talking about you Harry, I'm not mentioning you again.

But I digress

Three Dog Night does not fit, because one is not the loneliest number.   Instead, its the number three.

father, son, and holy spirit.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?  Or the father or the son?  Or the holy ghost?

Anyway, according to another writer on this blog, who loves music but recently sold all of his records, these three that Don McClean admired  the most, took the last train to the coast

and, as a result, will not be heard from again in this blog.

So that leaves us with the three hares:

three hares

The three hares are allegedly a religious symbol common to Christianity, Hinduism, and other religions of the Middle East/Asia

Or so I'm told.

The endless progression of rabbits running to chase their own tails.

It takes three to tango, and one hare simply won't do.   Why can't there just be the holy spirit for example?  Why do you have to add anything more to than that?

What i'm getting to is that when you begin to split things apart, it is from the operation of the human mind.  Undiferentiated reality is reality.   It is only when the human mind starts to categorize, dissect etc what is out there that artificial distinctions are created.

My good friend the Skinny Guy for example, might say it this way:

To carry yourself forward and experience myriad things is delusion. That myriad things come forth and experience themselves is awakening.
How many other ways can the third time not be a charm?

Quantum mechanics has three generations of fluff encompassing energy states of laptons:

electrons, muons, and tauons

it was better when there was just ether.

The Hindu Trimurti

The Three Jewels of Buddhism

useless trappings.

The three wise men left Jesus three gifts

look where it got him

Brittney Spears sang a song about three

look where it got her

Judaism has three patriarchs, the Tanakh three sections, and there are three major divisions of Jews.

look where it got them

However, Judaism did have only one god

none of the fancy extras

but drawing the distinction of one is even too many

look where it got me.
